We work with a range of permanent, part-time and freelance staff, who are based in our building in Shoreditch. The qualification for employment with us is to have character, intelligence, natural flair, and above all – to have a passion for marketing. We endeavor to make your relationship with new2marketing not just efficient and goal-achieving, but creative and fun. “Ben Harris took the expertise he had acquired in his career, and turned it into a business. After a career in marketing, Ben’s venture was kicked off when a friend’s business ran into problems because he didn’t know how to market it. Ben realised that there was a gap for helping start-ups achieve business growth on a fixed budget.
Ben launched his business in 2002. In 2004, he won a Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. What impressed the judges most was how he managed to create a strong and motivated team around him.
And that’s been his secret of success. ‘There’s no hierarchy or ceiling here for my staff at all. They take on as much as they can take on,’ he says. ‘One of our account managers was disillusioned with her old job where she’d been pigeon-holed as a team support assistant. With us she blossomed, earning the respect of one of our largest clients, a global company. As a result, she is now responsible for overseeing three blue chip client accounts.
‘It’s really important that I trust those around me. I hire on gut feeling and am more concerned with intelligence, ambition and passion than their employment history, and it’s served me well. The first two people I took on, I decided within the first couple of minutes of their interview that they were a good fit. Both have since contributed significantly to the growth and culture of the business.”
